Multiuser eBooks

 

In our Destiny library catalog,

  • Log in with your BCPS credentials.
  • Click the Exit button on top right.
  • In the Catalog tab, click on Resource Lists on left toolbar.
  • Scroll down to the Science eBooks list and click view. On this list, you will find all the Science eBooks that you can have your students use simultaneously.
  • The books that are by Capstone are interactive (Will read the text).
  • These are also books you can assign to a class using Reading Paths. (See below)

  • Log on to BCPSOne.
  • Click on the Digital Content tile. 
  •  Scroll down to 6-12 
  • Best databases for Science:

    • Science Reference Center 
    • Gale Virtual Reference Library
    • NBC Learn
    • Discovery Education (Teachers: Click on Support at the very bottom of the page to access tutorials on how to use Discovery Ed to its fullest.)
    • SIRS Knowledge Resource (for controversial science-related research)
    • Student Resources in Context  
  • Most do not need a Password from home. If you run into one that does, ask Ms. Magnuson.

 

            **Benefit of using the databases—source citations are done for you and all you need to do is copy and paste them into your EasyBib project or electronic project. You also do not need to evaluate the sources.
