Kenwood E-Books

Page history last edited by Lauren Magnuson 10 years, 2 months ago

Our collection has almost 350 e-Books!

We also have access to e-Books through the BCPS Databases (Tumble Books Cloud) and

Project Gutenberg.

To access eBooks from Destiny Quest, type eBook  in the search field and then click on the "Go!" button

All of our available eBooks will be listed.  To read one, simply click on the title.

Click on the "Read It" button, and you will be taken to Follett Shelf.

The Follett Shelf is a browsing window where you can either read the book online or check out the eBook, just like you

would a regular book.

The Follett Reader can be navigated using the toolbars at the left and bottom of the page.  Using the toolbar on the left, you can search the table of contents or search for specific keywords. You can also annotate the text using the highlighter and note taking buttons, also located on the left-hand tool bar.

Using the bottom toolbar, you can increase or decrease the size of the text by using magnifying glasses with the - or +.  You can turn pages by using the directional arrows on the bottom toolbar.  You can change from single page reading, to double page reading by selecting the numbered book on the toolbar.  When you are finished, you can close the window.  If you were logged in using your BCPS username, your annotations and current page will save in the book.  No need for bookmarks!

Check out TumbleBooks Cloud!

You can access TumbleBooks Cloud through the BCPS database portal.  Simply click on the TumbleBooks Cloud icon.  If you are accessing it from home, you will need the database username and password.  See your media specialist for details.

Through the TumbleBooks Cloud main page, you can access ebooks, graphic novels,  read-alongs, audio books, and videos from National Geographic.

Select the eBooks icon to explore the entire catalog of eBooks.  When you find the eBook you want, click read online.  You can also click on favorites if you want to quickly access the eBook from another computer or device.

You will then see the splash page for the ebook.  Feel free to skip it and get on with your reading.

You can navigate the eBook by using the arrows on the bottom toolbar.  If your book has additional features like a read-aloud option, or enhanced content, you will be able to access it from the same toolbar.
